Airman Leadership School (ALS) Mission Practice Test

Understanding where major U.S. military commands are headquartered helps you place each one correctly. Fort George G. Meade in Maryland is the home of U.S. Cyber Command, the force that plans, directs, and coordinates cyberspace operations across the Department of Defense. This location is chosen to keep cyber operations closely integrated with the NSA and other defense partners, supporting both defensive and offensive cyber activities. The other commands are based elsewhere: Space Command is headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado; STRATCOM sits at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska; and SOUTHCOM is based in Florida. So, the command tied to Fort Meade is Cyber Command.
